Job Description

Reporting to the Administrative Assistant, School Operations, the Administration Technician is responsible for performing various technical tasks related to the management of human and financial resources and development and implementation of standards and activities related to the department’s operations. As part of their duties, the Administration Technician assists managerial personnel.

FUNCTION & DUTIES:

Develop, adapt, and maintain tools and best practices for document and information management, using the tools and technology available.
Write the department’s monthly newsletter.
Prepare and distribute reports relevant to the department’s operations.
Manage and update files in Teams and SharePoint.
Maintain records, process, and follow up on all department expenses and contracts.
Process, analyze, and document employees’ travel claims, overtime statements and absence reports.
Collaborate in working out the logistics of various department projects.
Be available to travel if necessary.
Perform any other related tasks as requested by the immediate supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

College diploma (DEC) in administration or other diploma or attestation of studies recognized as equivalent by the school board.

The School Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore-mentioned qualifications if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (JBNQA) and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.

REQUIREMENTS:

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
Knowledge of DASH and Dofin (an asset).
Fluent (oral and written) in at least two (2) of the three (3) official working languages of the school board: Inuktitut, English, or French.
Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn and utilize new technology.
Ability to work independently in an office environment.
Knowledge of Inuit culture and lifestyle typical to Nunavik (an asset).

WORK SCHEDULE:

35 hours per week from Monday to Friday.

CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:

In accordance with the AENQ collective agreement for support staff, this position belongs to job category 4211: from $27.75 to $37.04 an hour depending on qualification and experience. All benefits are prorated based on the percentage of the task.
